Holcomb Creek Opens
The Big Bear Valley Historical Society  has joined the SBNF Adopt-A-Trail program, adopting FS Road 3N05. 3N05 is a loop road around the Holcomb Valley Campground and is part of the Gold Fever Trail. 3N05 intersects 3N16 just east of 2N09 (Polique Canyon) and again just west of Caribou Creek. In addition to the regular maintenance and repair duties, the BBVHS will work on providing educational and historical kiosks with information and photos at several spots along the road including the Hangman’s Tree and the saloon site.  he Big Bear Valley Historical Society is the first non-OHV related club in the program, but according to president Doug Walton “We are stakeholders in this forest like any 4x4 club and as users of motorized vehicles to access historic areas here, we have a responsibility to do our part and to add to the backcountry experience from an historical perspective”.  Web site:
